Chief Agentic Architect

1 open position

ABOUT ICANIO

Icanio specializes in reinventing software applications as AI-native, high-performance ones built for scale. We empower companies with proven product-market fit to become industry frontrunners through continuous product innovation and exceptional professional services, delivered by our worldwide team.

WHY ICANIO IS THE RIGHT MOVE

What we bring to the table:

  • High autonomy, meaningful impact, and real ownership in a fast-paced setting

  • Exposure to diverse products, sectors, and technology stacks

  • Clear advancement opportunities spanning engineering, product, and leadership

  • A genuinely flexible, people-first culture

THE POSITION

We are looking for a Chief Agentic Systems Architect to spearhead the evolution of a 10+ year legacy codebase into a modern, agent-ready, high-velocity platform.

This position lives at the crossroads of systems architecture, AI agent orchestration, and engineering oversight. You will define system design patterns, MCP interfaces, and intelligent context layers that enable LLMs and autonomous agents to safely refactor, validate, and deploy production code with limited human oversight.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Designing Systems for Agent Operability

  • Break down legacy monolithic architectures into modular, agent-navigable systems with well-defined boundaries and clear single responsibilities

  • Drive phased modernization using the Strangler Pattern, encapsulating legacy logic within contemporary, contract-driven interfaces

  • Champion SOLID principles, Dependency Injection, and Hexagonal Architecture to support deterministic AI execution and reduce regression exposure

Agentic Platform & MCP Strategy

  • Design and manage the agent context layer, including standardized Skills, Rules, and Commands that power AI-driven engineering workflows

  • Develop and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that surface legacy APIs, services, and databases as typed, secure, AI-ready tools

  • Own contract-first API design as the foundational bridge between human goals and autonomous agent execution

Technical Governance & AI Output Quality

  • Establish test-driven development (TDD) and characterization testing as non-negotiable practices to safeguard legacy behavior through refactoring

  • Continuously monitor and tune agentic reasoning pipelines to optimize for cost efficiency, execution speed, and architectural soundness

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 15+ years of experience in software architecture, platform engineering, or senior technical leadership

  • A track record of successfully modernizing complex, underdocumented legacy systems

  • Deep hands-on proficiency with TypeScript, .NET, and Node.js

  • Strong foundation in API design, distributed systems, and modular software architecture

  • Practical familiarity with agentic development workflows, MCP, LLM tooling, or AI-augmented engineering

  • A strong inclination toward clean, deterministic, production-ready code

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading or collaborating within geographically distributed teams

  • Ability to thrive in high-ambiguity situations with a strong sense of personal accountability

THE BIGGER PICTURE

This isn't about bolting AI features onto existing software.

You will be laying the architectural foundation that empowers AI to build, modify, and govern production systems at scale — safely and reliably.

For architects who want to define how autonomous systems shape the future of software engineering, this is that opportunity.

  • Familiarity with publishing and scheduling tools for Facebook, Instagram, and other social channels.

  • Comfort managing multiple content pieces and campaigns at once, with good attention to deadlines and brand consistency.

  • Clear written communication skills for crafting social copy and coordinating with the video and broader marketing teams.

  • Good analytical skills to interpret campaign metrics and translate them into content decisions.

  • Willingness to learn new AI and marketing technologies.

  • Freshers with a strong portfolio or personal projects are welcome to apply; up to 2 years of relevant experience is a plus.

Scrum Master

1 open position
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are hiring a Scrum Master to drive disciplined, predictable, and high-velocity delivery across 2–3 engineering teams operating within our portfolio companies. This role combines rigorous sprint execution, project planning, release management, delivery tooling ownership, and hands-on quality assurance. You will own the delivery operating rhythm end-to-end: from project plan creation and Gantt chart tracking through sprint ceremonies, release coordination in Redmine, and exploratory testing that ensures we ship quality software. You are not running ceremonies in isolation. You are the single point of accountability for delivery health, project timelines, release readiness, and product quality across your assigned teams.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
1. Project Planning & Delivery Tracking
1. Prepare and maintain project plans with clear milestones, delivery deadlines, task dependencies, and resource assignments for each active engineering workstream
2. Create and manage Gantt charts to visualize project timelines, critical path, and milestone progress across teams
3. Track delivery against committed deadlines, flag slippage early, and drive corrective action with engineering leads before deadlines are missed
4. Own the mapping between sprint-level work and project-level milestones, ensuring individual sprints roll up to cohesive delivery timelines
5. Maintain a consolidated project status view across all assigned teams, giving leadership clear visibility into what is on track, at risk, or blocked

2. Sprint Execution & Agile Delivery
1. Own and facilitate core agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across 2–3 teams
2. Ensure each team maintains clear sprint goals, realistic commitments, and a predictable delivery cadence
3. Track sprint progress, identify risks early, and resolve blockers before they impact delivery timelines
4. Drive continuous improvement in team velocity, estimation accuracy, and sprint completion rates
5. Own sprint capacity planning across teams, accounting for shared resources, availability gaps, leaves, and cross-team dependencies
6. Run Scrum-of-Scrums or equivalent cross-team syncs to manage inter-team dependencies, shared resource conflicts, and staggered sprint cadences

3. Release Management & Redmine Operations
1. Create and manage releases in Redmine, ensuring every release has a clear scope, version tag, target date, and linked tickets
2. Track ticket progress against releases: monitor open vs. closed vs. in-progress issues, flag scope creep, and ensure release readiness before deployment
3. Configure and maintain Redmine projects, trackers, custom fields, workflows, and permissions to support clean delivery operations
4. Maintain Redmine dashboards and saved queries that give instant visibility into release health, aging tickets, blockers, and team workload
5. Ensure sprint outputs flow cleanly into releases: tested, documented, reviewed, and ready for deployment
6. Coordinate release timing with QA, DevOps, and engineering leads to ensure smooth, predictable releases

4. Backlog Management & Cross-Functional Alignment
1. Partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, QA, and Customer Success to ensure backlog items are well-defined, prioritized, and delivery-ready
2. Ensure user stories have clear acceptance criteria, dependencies, estimates, and ownership before entering sprint planning
3. Maintain visibility into scope changes, spillovers, and risks across active workstreams
4. Help align product priorities with engineering capacity and customer-impacting commitments
5. Triage production incidents and customer escalations against sprint commitments — ensure urgent customer-impacting work is properly sized and slotted without derailing sprint goals

5. Quality Assurance & Exploratory Testing
1. Develop deep product knowledge across assigned teams to serve as an effective QA checkpoint, not just a process coordinator
2. Conduct hands-on exploratory testing: break the product, find edge cases, test user workflows end-to-end, and validate that delivered features actually work as intended
3. Verify delivered stories against acceptance criteria before sprint review, catching gaps before they reach stakeholders or customers
4. Identify patterns in escaped defects and work with engineering leads to address root causes in testing practices, code review, or definition of done
5. Collaborate with dedicated QA engineers where available, but own the quality gate when formal QA capacity is limited
6. Test across browsers, devices, and environments as needed — ensure releases are production-ready, not just code-complete

6. Delivery Playbooks & Process Standardization
1. Create and maintain delivery playbooks that standardize sprint operations across all assigned teams: sprint ops, backlog hygiene, definition of ready/done, escalation paths, and onboarding guides
2. Document release management processes, Redmine conventions, and project planning standards so that delivery operations are repeatable and not dependent on tribal knowledge
3. Build QA checklists and exploratory testing guides for each product area
4. Ensure playbooks are living documents — updated based on retrospective learnings and evolving team needs
5. Enable new team members to ramp up on delivery processes quickly through clear, accessible documentation

7. Delivery Governance & Reporting
1. Build and maintain delivery dashboards covering sprint health, velocity, burndown, blockers, aging tickets, release readiness, and project milestone tracking
2. Provide consolidated sprint health visibility across all assigned teams, identifying cross-team patterns and systemic improvement areas
3. Escalate delivery risks, unresolved blockers, and dependency gaps with clear action owners and timelines
4. Report on engineering delivery metrics: sprint predictability, cycle time, defect escape rate, release frequency, and estimation accuracy
5. Surface patterns across teams — e.g., all teams struggling with estimation, one team consistently spilling stories — and drive targeted improvements

8. Team Enablement & Continuous Improvement
1. Coach engineering teams on agile principles, delivery discipline, estimation techniques, and continuous improvement practices
2. Identify recurring delivery bottlenecks and work with leadership to improve process, tooling, and operating rhythm
3. Encourage accountability without creating bureaucracy — help teams move faster with better clarity
4. Support distributed teams with structured communication, clear follow-ups, and strong async execution habits

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Required:
1. 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Delivery Lead, with demonstrated experience managing 2+ engineering teams simultaneously
2. Strong hands-on experience with Redmine (or Jira): project configuration, release creation, custom workflows, Gantt charts, dashboards, and sprint reporting
3. Proven ability to create and manage project plans, delivery timelines, Gantt charts, and milestone tracking across multiple concurrent workstreams
4. Hands-on QA capability: ability to learn products deeply, conduct exploratory testing, find edge cases, and validate delivered features against acceptance criteria
5. Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, backlog management, sprint planning, estimation techniques, and release coordination
6. Experience creating delivery playbooks, process documentation, and standardized operating procedures for engineering teams
7. Strong stakeholder management skills across Product, Engineering, QA, Customer Success, and leadership teams
8. Experience working with remote-first or globally distributed teams 9. Excellent communication, follow-through, meeting facilitation, and written documentation skills
10. Bias toward clarity, ownership, execution discipline, and measurable delivery outcomes

Nice to Have:
1. Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or platform engineering environments
2. Experience in post-acquisition or turnaround environments where processes needed to be built from scratch
3. Familiarity with engineering metrics: cycle time, lead time, defect leakage, sprint predictability, deployment frequency, and MTTR
4. Exposure to AI-assisted software delivery, engineering automation, or modern SDLC tooling
5. Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent)

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
You are not just running ceremonies. You are the delivery backbone for 2–3 engineering teams — the person who ensures project plans are realistic, sprints are productive, releases ship on time, and the product actually works. This is a high-impact role for someone who can bring structure to ambiguity, build repeatable delivery systems, personally validate product quality, and help portfolio companies scale engineering delivery with speed, discipline, and accountability. Your playbooks, dashboards, Redmine configurations, and testing rigor become the operating infrastructure that makes predictable delivery possible across the portfolio.

Solutions Architect (JAVA) - Insurance

1 open position

Experience: 15+ Years

Job Type: Full Time

Job Location: Chennai or Tirunelveli or Remote

About Icanio

Icanio is a rapidly growing software consulting multinational corporation (MNC) headquartered in the US, with a strong global presence. We serve a diverse clientele across the USA, Germany, France, Australia, Singapore, the Middle East, Mexico, and India. With offices in Tirunelveli, Chennai, Delaware, and Singapore, our extensive footprint enables us to cater to clients worldwide. Our portfolio includes comprehensive software development services for Web, iOS, and Android platforms, DevOps, AI/ML solutions, and QA services. This makes us the preferred technology partner for both enterprise customers and startups. With a global workforce of over 200 professionals, we pride ourselves on delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive digital transformation for our clients.

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Solutions Architect (JAVA) to own the technical direction of our Java-based Broker/Distributor Commission Management platform for insurance and financial services clients. The platform manages the full distribution lifecycle — distributor and producer administration, organizational and compensation hierarchies, licensing and credential compliance, compensation schedules, selling agreements, transaction processing, and downstream debt and payment management. This is a client-facing, ownership-driven role — you will own the product development roadmap, translate client and regulatory requirements into concrete architectural and delivery plans, lead client solutioning from discovery through go-live, and act as the primary point of technical accountability for the customers using the platform.

You will partner with sales, delivery, product management, and engineering to shape what gets built and how, while directly managing customer relationships — running requirement discussions, resolving production and integration issues, and ensuring the roadmap reflects real client needs across our insurance and broker/distributor client base.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development Roadmap Ownership

• Own and continuously evolve the product development roadmap for the Java-based broker/distributor commission management platform, balancing new client requirements, technical debt, and platform scalability.

• Translate business and regulatory requirements around distributor administration, licensing/credential compliance, compensation calculation, agreements, and payment processing into a prioritized, actionable engineering plan.

• Define the target architecture — core data services, configurable rules and validators, compensation calculation engines, and hierarchy/relationship models — and phase the roadmap into releases aligned with client commitments and internal capacity.

• Work with Product and Engineering leadership to sequence features (e.g., new compensation schedule types, hierarchy structures, credential rules, payment/debt workflows), track roadmap progress, and re-prioritize based on client feedback and delivery constraints.

• Identify technical risks and dependencies early — particularly around configuration-driven customization, data migration, and compensation calculation accuracy — and build mitigation and contingency plans into the roadmap.

Client Solutioning

• Lead solutioning for new and existing insurance/broker clients — running discovery workshops, understanding existing distributor and compensation systems, and designing end-to-end solutions covering distributor onboarding, hierarchy setup, credential/licensing rules, compensation schedules, and agreements.

• Architect solutions for broker commission workflows — producer and organization hierarchies, license/appointment/E&O tracking, compensation schedule design, selling agreements and contract kits, transaction processing, and debt/payment settlement — using Java and the platform's configuration-driven (XML/rules-based) architecture.

• Design integrations with external systems such as policy administration systems, licensing/regulatory data providers, and payment/ledger systems, including data load and extract workflows.

• Produce technical proposals, solution architecture diagrams, effort estimates, and Statements of Work (SOW) in collaboration with sales and delivery teams.

• Evaluate configure vs. customize vs. integrate options for each client requirement, and recommend the most efficient path within the platform's rules-and-validators-driven architecture.

• Run technical workshops and enablement sessions to align client stakeholders on the proposed solution and implementation approach.

Customer Handling

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for insurance carrier and broker/agency client stakeholders throughout the engagement lifecycle — from onboarding through steady-state support.

• Build trusted-advisor relationships with client technical teams and business stakeholders (compensation/compliance operations, IT, and business leadership), including senior contacts where relevant.

• Own resolution of customer-raised technical issues, escalations, and integration queries — including compensation calculation discrepancies, licensing/credential validation issues, and data load/extract problems — coordinating with engineering and support teams as needed.

• Gather ongoing customer feedback and feature requests (e.g., new compensation structures, hierarchy changes, regulatory/licensing rule updates), and feed them back into the product roadmap in a structured, prioritized manner.

• Conduct periodic technical reviews and roadmap check-ins with key customers to maintain alignment and manage expectations.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, with significant time in a client-facing Solutions Architect, technical product owner, or architecture leadership role.

• Strong hands-on background in Java-based enterprise application development and architecture, including configuration-driven/rules-based systems (XML-configured business rules, validators, workflow engines).

• Prior experience with broker/distributor commission management, incentive compensation, or producer/agent management systems in insurance or financial services strongly preferred.

• Working knowledge of insurance distribution concepts — producer/distributor hierarchies, licensing and appointment compliance, errors & omissions (E&O) tracking, compensation schedules, selling agreements, and commission/debt/payment processing.

• Proven track record owning a product roadmap end-to-end — prioritizing features, balancing client demands against platform health, and shipping releases.

• Experience designing integrations and data pipelines (batch data load/extract, REST APIs, file-based interfaces) connecting commission platforms with policy administration, licensing/regulatory, and payment/ledger systems.

• Strong background in enterprise deployment models; exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

• Excellent client-handling and communication skills — able to run discovery, present architecture, and manage escalations with both technical and business stakeholders.

• Experience authoring SOWs, architecture documents, and technical proposals.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Direct hands-on experience with a commercial broker/distributor or incentive compensation management platform (e.g., SAP Commissions/Callidus, Xactly, Varicent, Oracle Incentive Compensation, or similar).

• Experience with rules-engine or validator-driven business logic frameworks, and XML-based application configuration.

• Direct experience in the insurance or InsurTech vertical (P&C, life, health, annuities, or reinsurance), particularly on the distribution/producer side.

• Familiarity with insurance regulatory/compliance considerations around producer licensing, appointments, and continuing education (e.g., NAIC/state insurance department requirements, or regional equivalents).

• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.

• Track record of managing strategic client accounts worth $1M+ ARR.
